Summer Tutoring Program

Now accepting students for summer programs

Summer is a great time to catch up on concepts or to polish skills in writing or math. It is also the best time to prepare for the SAT and ACT, so you don't have to fit the test prep in during the busy school year.

I provide a 4-7 week individualized program in the following areas:

Test Prep
*Summer is the perfect time to prepare for the SAT.  I can help you develop strategies for the SAT and ACT, including all-round test prep or focus in a specific area, or essay writing.  Following up an Honors or AP class with a subject test in August is also a great strategy.

Reading/Writing:

*writing process including prewriting, outlining, drafting, revisions and final draft
*paragraphs or essays (depending on grade level) with a focus on expository, persuasive, compare/contrast, literary analysis, summary and response, personal narrative or informative writing
*proofreading, mechanics, grammar, vocabulary, spelling and sentence structure
*strategies for SAT, ACT or college application essays
*reading comprehension, critical reading, deeper reading for literary analysis, reading in the content areas
*Summer AP coursework support

Math:
*arithmetic review and math facts consolidation, fractions, decimals, percents, pre-algebra skills, word problems and problem solving, and Common Core curriculum
